She is Discerning
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” – Romans 8:14
“She considers a field before she buys or accepts it [expanding her business prudently]; With her profits she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard.” – Proverbs 31:16
The outstanding achievements of “Super Mama” - Proverbs 31 woman are not just a product of her hard work. At the heart of her success lies something deeper: discernment that comes from a life led by the Spirit of God.
Scripture makes it clear that being led by the Spirit is a defining mark of God’s children (Romans 8:14). The Proverbs 31 woman was not just wise in business and strong in character—she was spiritually sensitive. Her ability to “consider a field” before buying it (Proverbs 31:16) reveals more than just business acumen—it shows caution, prayerfulness, and discernment.
She didn’t rush into decisions. She prayed, pondered, and planned with God at the centre.
A Woman Who Watches
Proverbs 31:27 tells us, “She carefully watches everything in her household.” This paints a picture of a woman who doesn’t leave her life or responsibilities to chance. She is watchful, intentional, and aware. She walks by spiritual insight, not by impulse.
And this isn’t just for the Proverbs 31 woman—this is a call for all of us. If we want to fulfil our divine assignments, we must develop spiritual discernment by walking closely with God.
How Do We Become Discerning?
Listen to the Holy Spirit – The Spirit of God speaks to our hearts. Take time to listen. Slow down enough to hear His voice.
Spend Time in the Word – As Romans 12:2 says, our minds must be renewed by God’s Word so we can “prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Pray Before You Act – Don’t jump into decisions. Whether it’s a relationship, a business venture, or a parenting moment—take it to God first.
Pay Attention to the Inner Witness – Discernment often comes as a knowing or a peace in your spirit—or the lack of it.
Final Encouragement
Discernment isn’t about being cautious out of fear; it’s about being wise out of faith. When you're led by the Spirit, you’re not guessing—you’re walking in divine direction.
Take time to invite God into every aspect of your life—from the big decisions to the daily routines. The more time you spend with Him, the clearer His voice becomes—and the more confident you’ll be in your steps.
She is discerning because she is deeply connected to God - And so can you be.
Stay prayerful. Stay watchful. Be led by the Spirit.
